Hope is Your Anchor

Hebrews 10:23

23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
— Bible

The Lord has told His people countless of times that we will experience trials and tribulations on this earth. Can you already attest to that? The Lord also has told us that this earthly place is temporary. Heaven is our destination! How beautiful does that sound? In the scripture above the Lord tells you to hold unswervingly to the hope you profess. Profess means to claim openly, or to declare. Holding on to the promises of our King. That can be hard to do with all that is going wrong in your life. I have a secret for you today. Hope is actually your way out! Using your own words is a way to escape. Professing out loud “ Lord I trust you, my hope is in you.” Declaring that helps you to hold onto your hope. Your words have power, and speaking negative, or false affirmations can impact your well being. One scripture that wrecks my life on this topic is ........

Romans 8:15-17

15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, “Abba,[b] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
— Bible

This is a powerful scripture. Read verse 17 again. As co-heirs with Christ we will experience some suffering, but we will also share in His glory. You should not be afraid of your tials because you are His heirs, His child. Meaning you have the power of the Lord to help you through. You have the almighty on your side, so anchor your hope in Him. He has promised you so much, and He is faithful! Where is you hope anchored today? Is it anchored in your money, your husband, your boyfriend, your job, your friends, your mother, your father, or yourself?

Romans 8:24-25 New King James Version (NKJV)

24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
— Bible

Set your hope on the one who is the everlasting God. Wait on him, it is not always easy, but give Him your best yes!
