God's Plan is Always Better
My devotional this morning really did a number on me, it brought the truth of the above scripture to surface. The only thing I could do was praise God, because his plan for my life is unfolding and I thanked him all day!
Jesus stated " your natural preference is to plan out your day, knowing what will happen when. My preference is for you to depend on me continually, trusting me to guide you."
In my devotional I literally wrote "me" by that because I do plan my day and sometimes I plan years ahead. Is that statement above describing you too? Do you know what the problem with planning is as Christians? The problem is that we are planning things to our ability and not God's, planning is all about us and less of God. We are planning things that we want and not even thinking about what God wants. Just like Jesus said " natural preferences" meaning sometimes we just cant help it but if we depend on the Lord that habit will decrease. What will increase is our trust and us going through our days knowing that the Lord will guide us. Less of us trying to figure things out and more of God's will for us coming to light. Easier said then done right, but the first step is small and it is simply to trust in the Lord .
Here is an example where God really showed me that His plan will prevail. I walked into Bowie State to meet with the coordinator of Child and Adolescent Studies in May of this year. My mind was made up that I was going to community college for two years then transfer. I wanted all the information and classes that I would need to take in order to do so but as me and Mrs. Bishop were talking God was moving. She wrote me up a class sheet and signed it and said this is your classes for fall 2015. I was like hold up I am not coming here in the fall, I have no money and did not apply. Come to find out my name was still in there system from my high school application. So all I had to do was resubmit and go from there, do you see how my plans got knocked out by God's plan. Knowing that my name should have never popped up from 5 years ago, that was a miracle and a sign. Here is the wonder, when my financial aide went through I had no idea where all that grant money came from. My mind was really blown away by this, my tuition was covered and all of my books were paid for. And today was my first day of my fall semester eeekkkkkk!!!!!!!!! I was so excited and filled with so much joy because this was God's plan for me all along. All of the delays I had with school and money were for this moment right here to grow my belief in God because he can do anything!
Warning about Self-Confidence
13 Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” 14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. 15 What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”
At the end of the day the Lord has the final say and nothing can stop His plan for our lives. I love you all and pray that you will get over yourself and yield to God.
